City University Social Sciences

This project included internal refurbishment of parts of City University’s existing Social Sciences Building in central London to provide a more generous new entrance and flexible teaching rooms on upper floors.  The original building was designed by Stirling Prize winning architects Stanton Williams and the remodelling helped to make the central atrium space more visible and to give the building a more welcoming appearance.  The interior design included a bespoke reception desk and high-quality furniture and finishes to create a smarter first impression for visitors.  SEH carried out an early options appraisal in 2009.  I was Project Director for the subsequent planning application and construction stages.  The project completed on site in 2012.
